Captcha is the most popular, but it is fnot always the most effective prevention technique. In this presentation I will demonstrate numerous alternative methods for preventing form spam. And the side benefits of these methods are better site usability and accessibility. Speaker: (provided by the speaker) Jake has been developing ColdFusion based applications since ColdFusion 4. He is well known for building CFQuickDocs (http://cfquickdocs.co.... He has given numerous presentations to various user groups, including the popular CF Meetup group. Jake is very passionate about the Internet, particularly about web standards and surrounding technologies. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any podcast or other download of the recorded meetings. The latest version of Adobe Connect, which we just started using on May 22, does permit creation of downloadable recordings. I'll be exploring that and will announce when we can offer them. LOGGING IN: When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE USE THE "LOGIN AS GUEST" option, and use your real name, but do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password. The login screen presented there has no connection to meetup.com. And if you have a real Connect account, don't use that either. Just sign in as a guest. It's just not worth the time to try to track who RSVPs and add them manually as participants in each meeting. You have no fewer features as a guest as when you would login with your own account.
