Thanks very much for your feedback. I agree that it would be helpful if someone could greet Meetup people on arrival, but as I will invariably be distracted by other stuff around that time, I'm not the best person to do it.

I was thinking of calling for a filmfan volunteer to perform this important task, but before I do...would you be interested? I think you'd be a great meeter 'n greeter + you'll get some free drinks! What do you think?
