John Pierre: Lecture on Tips and Tricks to Thriving on a Plant-Based Diet

  • September 23, 2012 · 6:30 PM
  • Highlands United Methodist Church

Nutritionist/Trainer John Pierre is back by popular demand! He will be doing another lecture for us on tips and tricks to thriving on a plant-based diet.

Doors will open at 6 PM, and the lecture will start at 6:30 PM. Bring water and healthy snacks! The lecture will be approximately 1 hour with some Q&A time afterwards.

This will also be a fundraising event for the Vegetarian Society of Colorado. It costs a lot to rent these spaces out, get booth spaces at fairs to do vegan outreach, to do large events such as Vegfest, and to print materials that we hand out on a very regular basis. JP is is doing his lecture at NO COST to help raise funds for VSC. I would like to suggest a $5 minimum donation, thanks! If you can't swing that but want to attend, please don't worry about it!

I have seen JP speak twice now, and I have had 3 personal consults with him. Every time I hear him talk, I gain so much more knowledge and insight. Anyone will benefit from this lecture!

A little more about JP:

"John Pierre is a nutrition and fitness consultant who has devoted more than a quarter century to helping and improving the lives of others through his expertise in the areas of geriatrics, nutrition, fitness, women’s empowerment, green living, and cognitive retainment and improvement.

A dedicated activist, JP works with people of all ages promoting the benefits of a plant-based diet, stress reduction, physical fitness, and the importance of living a loving and compassionate life. He is a popular personal trainer who conducts group fitness boot camps and works with individual clients.

JP has a unique ability to communicate valuable information in an easy to understand manner. This makes the incorporation of his material useful and valid in the daily lives of the people he helps.

JP has been a pioneer in the area of geriatrics, and was one of the first to create classes on fall prevention, and the link between diet and balance abilities. He has worked with the Girl Scouts of America, afterschool programs, colleges, and high schools, and has been a frequent presenter at Vegetarian Summerfest and VegFest Colorado. A strong women’s rights advocate, JP has lectured at women’s shelters and coordinated the collection and distribution of clothing and food. JP has also lectured at orphanages, teen runaway centers, schools, and most institutional venues in his goal of spreading the message of plant-based nutrition, peace, and a compassionate lifestyle, which contributes to increased levels of health for people, animals, and the environment."  -From website

One of his latest accomplishments is becoming a trainer/nutritionist for Ellen Degeneres and her staff! Check out this video of John training Ellen and staff!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
