How did you hear about the Boulder & Beyond Vegan Meetup?

I met a member. Lisa Shapiro on Pearl Street where she represented Information Table for GoVeganForLife .

What made you decide to go vegan/ explore a more compassionate lifestyle?

Variety of vegetables, legumes, grains and all the possible combinations, with spices or plain: make it a viable alternative. There are various arguments that appeal to me: compassion, human dietary needs, environmental impact. The movies like Food Inc. and books like "Diet for a Small Planet" present evidence that industrial production of meat is plain not healthy, and appeal to ethics as well. Meet industry in US has a profound impact on Environment, ignoring this fact is Hypocritical if one talks about sustainability.

What kind of activities would you like to see the group participate in?

Pot-luck dinners, nutrition workshops, cooking demonstration.

On your veg journey, do you have specific challenges that you'd like help with?

Hi friends, I am Dina. I have been in Boulder for almost 2 year with my husband Dmitri and 2 young children. I came to America in 1990 from Russia. I know all about beets, cabbage and potatoes :) I am exploring a Vegan option. I love food.
