Reading the below excerpt from Tim's message below might give one the inaccurate impression that PPS is not successful in "getting the message out to the general public."  I am certainly not aware of all that they do, but I am aware that in particular they have funded huge ad campaigns in print media and on public transportation.  

I just wanted to clarify that point without weighing in on the debate.

I also certainly have nothing against PPS, but there's something to be said for focusing financial support to the few organizations out there that have consistently been successful in getting out the message to the general public on a broad scale, gaining traction on legislative matters, and the like.
