Subject: [bouldervegans] Happy New Year and Lisa's first ever Top Ten List;-)

Hello everyone,
I wanted to wish all of you a wonderful new year, and thank you all for being part of this community that the Vegan meetups have grown into. In conjunction with all the Top Ten lists that are created at this time of year, I thought I would take a stab at my first ever top ten list, entitled:

Lisa's Top Ten List of Easy Breezy  ways to plant vegan seeds in 2012; even for the most shy and introverted among us!

1. Leave animal magazines, vegan leaflets/brochures on the bus, at your doctors, dentists, mechanics office ect.

2. Re-merchandise your book store library cook book sections. Put vegan cook books on end caps and facing out, or on the reading tables.  Place vegan cook books in the not vegan sections.

3. Place vegan food products in the animal products section- ie. place soy delicious nice crean in front of ben & jerry's, or vegan deli slices near the Oscar Meyer Bologna slices, ect. You never know who will see the cholesterol free, dairy free product and decide to try that vegan product after all. And if the store clerk has to put the product back in it's regular home, they too, will too learn about the product.

4. Credit card solicitations come with envelopes that are postage paid. Place a vegan brochure and a animal friendly sticker on the envelope and mail away. You never know who will open it on the other end.

5. Truth in labeling- get those wonderful stickers from animal groups like PETA/IDA/COK ect that have a photo of a caricature of a chick and  say "I am not a nugget" or "Jesus loves me too!" ect, and plant away.

6. Slip vegan information in magazines while waiting in line at the grocery store.

7.Drop off your old Veggie magazines at your local hospital community waiting rooms. Every month I take a stack of PCRM "Eating for Cancer" magazines and leave then in the waiting rooms.

8. Bake vegan goodies and give them to your pre vegan friends/co workers.  Include  the recipe and information on  the brutal treatment of dairy cows, their babies and hens and their baby chicks. Include a handout on how to replace animal products in their recipes.

9. Insert an animal message/brochure with every bill you pay.

10 Restaurants- If a restaurant does not have vegan options on a menu don't just leave. Ask for the manager and often times they will let you know that they can accommodate your vegan needs. If not, let them know that they lost however many customers that are in your party. .

What are some of your ideas!?

As always, Travis and I are open to your feedback on how we can make the Boulder (and beyond!) Vegan meetup group support you in your Vegan Journey.

For the animals, and all of us, may 2012 bring about  the tipping point for a Vegan world.
