Eating meat is cruelty
Most people would agree that intentionally herding a gaggle of geese into the road to kill them with a car is a senseless act of animal cruelty. Yet how different are the rest of us, paying someone to, in essence, commit an equally senseless and even more cruel act?
We do not need to eat animals to thrive. We are paying to kill 20,000 animals every minute, most of whom live a short painful life crowded into cages with their bodies mutilated, dying a slow and painful death.
New U.S. Department of Agriculture data on animals killed for food in 2010 states that 875 million animals died lingering deaths from disease, injury, starvation, suffocation, maceration or other atrocities of animal farming and transport. Nothing tastes so good that we should ever allow this kind of suffering.
Keep animals from harm every time you sit down to eat.
