I am beyond excited about the upcoming opening of Native Foods on May 29th,at the 29th street mall.
I had the honor of meeting all morning with the folks behind the first franchise opening in Boulder (with a slotted 13 other s in Colorado in a rapid roll out). While I was disappointed to learn that the original founder, (an animal rights/vegan) is no longer involved with Native Foods, I think the bottom line is that there are some savvy and kind entrepreneurs behind the operation, and they are keeping the restaurants 100% animal free/vegan. I always hold out hope that the animal piece will connect for people, and who better to have that happen for then those that have a commitment to run an all vegan business.
In the next few days I will be sharing some other announcements about the Native Foods opening, and some special offerings from them, for us. It's all super wonderful and when I reviewed the menu I literally salivated! And you will not get bored with their offerings, and there is something for every body!! And the price point is unbeatable. Many huge meals for less then $10.
In case my enthusiasm has not been obvious, I have lived in Boulder for over 25 years and and feel this pioneering plant promoting business (that can mushroom all over the country in a very short time), is one of the best things to happen in Boulder for that long.;-) We must come out and support it in full force (what a tasty obligation!) and the sooner we can do that the better for the concept in general, and the quicker franchises can be purchased and rolled out. A win for the animals that couldn't come soon enough.
Lastly, we have lots of space for this Saturday's Cinco de Mayo potluck gathering. Come on out and meet your veggie peeps. And bring your kids!
