I don't typically send emails like below out and I don't know how I feel about the worth of petitions but this is a local issue and I think it warrants the few minutes it will take to sign and share if it may have an impact.
Michelle and I were able to visit Almost Home Cat Adoption Center located in Westminster this weekend and we were both blown away at the place. Look forward to a volunteer meetup gathering soon to help out the saints that run and work the place. Anyway, we got to see the beautiful cats of all kinds/colors/shapes and we also witnessed the room of 46 cats that were pulled from a horrible hoarding situation. These cats were starved, abused, needed massive medical care (still do and will for the rest of their lives bc of how neglected they were). The amazing newly vegan folks who run this place are working round the clock trying to get these babies out of death's door while the mentally insane hoarder who "owned" them is fighting to get them back and even trying to sue the saints at Almost Home Adopting. If real justice was served this lady would get the medical help she needed and do whatever she needed to pay Almost Home for the tens of thousands of dollars they are spending on medical bills. So many of these babies were so neglected that their teeth are falling out and have massive jaw infections that costs tens of thousands of dollars This is a clear case of hoarding and this woman needs mental help but because of our crazy legal system there might be some way for her to actually get some of these babies back! Please sign this petition, share with your friends and consider donating to this fantastic organization right in our back yard.
Lastly, they are having a fundraiser and for the first time it will be an ALL vegan event. They are concerned it will cost them a lot of their donors and attendees but I have no doubt the vegans will turn out to support this worthy organization. Please keep June 28th open and join our meetup for this special event. We can plant so many vegan seeds to all these cat lovers who have not made the connection, yet. Ont he way out after our visit one of the workers who said she could "never give up chicken" was totally receptive to the fact that there are plant based chicken substitutes and they even let us drop off a stack of Veg Starter Kits and Vegan Recipe pamphlets.
For the kitties and all animals,
