I enjoyed the first a Oldboy a lot and would definitely recommend it if you like Thrillers and Asian Cinema. However I am hopefully that this remake will at least be ok. From the trailer it looked fairly promising but we will have to wait until we see the actual film. Like the look of this or you've seen the original, why don't you join us? The movie starts at 18:40 but I should be there from around 18:25.

Meetup Location: I will be waiting at the main entrance (inside Trocadero). I will also be holding up a Meetup sign. I will wait until 18:40 before going inside.

Film Description:

Synopsis:

A wronged man seeks vengeance on those who mysteriously imprisoned him in Spike Lee's visceral thriller. One day in 1993, advertising executive Joe Doucett (Josh Brolin) wakes up in a hotel room that's been converted into a prison cell. His solitary confinement endures for two decades, exacting a terrible psychological toll. Then he's released just as suddenly and unexpectedly as he was captured. Traumatised and transformed, Doucett is determined to track down those responsible. A mysterious voice then taunts him over the phone, challenging him to answer the questions: "Who am I and why did I imprison you for 20 years?" Spike Lee's intriguing, atmospheric revenge mystery is adapted from the same Japanese manga series that inspired the cult 2003 South Korean film of the same title. The powerhouse supporting cast of Lee's masterful reinvention includes Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen and 'District 9' star Sharlto Copley.

Starring: Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Sharlto Copley
