This movie has had quite a few positive reviews. If you like the look of this why don't you join us? The movie starts at 20:30 but I should be there from 20:15.  However there may be pre-drinks beforehand at our usual place from 19:00...will confirm on the day.

Please remember this showing is for Unlimited Card holders only! So unfortunately if you do not have an unlimited card you won't be able to attend.

Also to avoid disappointment please book your ticket online beforehand. Thank you.

Meetup Location: I will be waiting at the main entrance to the cinema (inside Trocadero) in front of the automated ticket machines. I will also be holding up a Meetup sign. I will wait until the movie start time before going inside.

Film Description:

Matthew McConaughey stars in the incredible true story of a man who takes on the medical establishment after being given 30 days to live. Texan electrician and rodeo cowboy Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) certainly grabs life by the horns. But in 1985, this hedonistic (and homophobic) hellraiser is abruptly stopped in his tracks. Dr. Eve Saks (Jennifer Garner) delivers an HIV positive diagnosis that gives him just a month to live. Macho Ron refuses to accept his death sentence and embarks on an extraordinary entrepreneurial journey. Investigating alternative treatments, he begins to smuggle unapproved anti-viral drugs from Mexico to help others as well as himself. This incurs the wrath of the government and pharmaceutical companies, but Ron acquires a surprise ally in the form of a self-destructive transsexual named Rayon (Jared Leto). Based on real events, this inspiring tribute to one man's indomitable spirit is set against the backdrop of the battle for effective AIDS medication.

Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto, Jennifer Garner, Steve Zahn, Dallas Roberts, Jane McNeill

Director: Jean-Marc Vallee

Running Time: 117 minutes

Genre: Drama
