Community building requires training and the ability to make the connections with others to achieve goals in the community. The Community Connection Network has organized this group to provide resources for churches, schools and grassroots organizations relating to grants, support services, and organizing your organization for efficiency. Volunteer opportunities will also be available.
As a member, you can post your meetings and events, opportunities, and needs within your organization as well as news that is beneficial to community building efforts. We will host seminars and assist you with developing your web page, increasing funding opportunities, building collaborations, informing you of seminars and trainings being offered in the community, and building your community for sustainability. We want to focus on economic development and education in the community as the most challenging issues for most families.
We want to provide resources that strengthen those at risk of long term poverty to help them overcome their barriers and take an active role in improving their quality of life by teaching skills to become self-sufficient. Special attention will be given to empowering parents with disabled children as well as providing support services to the disabled, ex-offenders, foster care transitioning youth, juveniles, pregnant teens and low-income families. Together, we can form a city-wide network and combine resources to meet the needs and empower the Houston community. We look forward to having you as a partner.
This group doesn't have any additional upcoming Meetups scheduled.
