Glad you found us!
If you’re looking to empower yourself with community self-sufficiency and nature connection, you’re in the right place.
This group is focused on empowering our community with more self-sufficiency, self-reliance and resilience. The world is changing and our culture has lost the stability, strength and resourcefulness of community that was common a generation or so ago. We’re facing more uncertainty in climate, weather, economy, resource availability, and social unrest than ever before, so it makes sense to return to an intentional, community-minded way of living to secure our future.
Since the industrial revolution, we've become more and more disconnected from nature, the earth and our food sources. People are more concerned with acquiring more belongings, getting it fast and conveniently, and consuming as much as possible. It’s time to slow down, re-connect with nature and learn from ancient ways about how to live in greater balance with the earth. It’s time to re-wild ourselves.
The Community Empowerment & Re-Wilding group is for people in the Newmarket area who want to build empowered & resourceful connections, create a more supportive community, and challenge the norms and conventions of modern society, for the sake of living more self-sufficiently and more in harmony with the earth.
We care about well-being and connectedness, and are committed to preparing proactively for anything from disasters and emergencies to the post-industrial and post-carbon era.
