A Reiki Silent Night

(Open to Everyone)

What does the holiday season mean for you? Peace? Stress? Love? Commercialism? Joy?

Promote health, well-being, peace, laughter, and love with a silent night of meditation and Reiki.

Simply drop in, do your thing, and head out when you're done.

Details

* RSVP "yes" to receive address and directions to the gathering site. Feel free to bring a favorite CD to support the peace and tranquility generated at this gathering. After originally inviting you to bring CDs, I realized that music does not contribute to silence. :) However, if someone has a recording of bells that tone periodically, without any other sounds, this might be conducive for the setting. Otherwise, we'll be silent without music.

A "maybe" RSVP tells me that there is interest in this type of activity. Comments attached to RSVP's help me know what might get in your way of attending (including nervousness, questions, or concerns related to the meetup topic or description - then I can clarify to help you make an informed decision).

* When you arrive, let yourself in quietly. I will likely greet you with a smile, wave, and/or a hug.

* If you'd like, place Reiki requests, or other items, on the altar. I will provide pens and paper for Reiki requests.

* Sit where you're comfortable and send Reiki, prayers, love to situations and loved ones close to your heart.

* Feel free to send Reiki, prayers, love to the requests on the altar. Honor confidentiality by leaving the requests on the altar and sending healing to them from your seat.

* Or give yourself a Reiki treatment. Or meditate for peace. You decide how to use the quiet time.

* Want to receive Reiki? Lie down on a table or sit in the Reiki chair. When someone is ready, they will give you a treatment.

* Or, stand by the Reiki table to indicate that you are ready to share Reiki with another. Someone will lie down or sit in a chair to receive Reiki.

* When you're finished for the evening, let yourself out with a smile and wave. There will be a notebook for comments and a basket for donations, if you'd like to contribute either.

At 9:00, I will motion to stand in a circle to close for the evening. If you're still present, join in!

Please remain silent for the duration of the evening. Interaction can occur through smiles, hugs, motions. Feel free to be creative. For example, if you want someone to give Reiki to your knee, put their hands on your knee so that they know your preferences. Or use some paper to write a note if you have a question.

The stillness was so peaceful. I was excited to see so much response to this gathering. 14 people RSVPd "yes", and just about as many said "no", with a few maybe's in between. I wonder what was different about this meetup that supported so many to communicate their intentions. I'd love to host another if there is interest. Perhaps one each month of winter?

What a beautiful evening - thank you so much! I enjoyed the flexibility of just "stopping in", but sure do wish we would have been able to be there for the entire evening. It was so peaceful and, wow, was Reiki ever present! Very nice - would love to do it again.
