Greater Boston Humanists will co-sponsor another event with the Humanist Community at Harvard at Phillips Brooks House in Harvard Yard in Cambridge, on Sunday October 6. Free lunch provided by GBH (pizza from Otto's and we will try to provide a vegan option too) served at 12 Noon, followed by the speaker at 1.
Author Nikki Stern will speak on "Hope in Small Doses: A Blueprint for Reasonable Happiness." She draws on research, observation and her own experience to propose a contemporary version of hope compatible even with skepticism and doubt. Hope reimagined relies not on divine promises or guarantees from the universe but on possibility, and offers a welcome counterpoint to the cult of cynicism.
We welcome all secular, atheist, non-theist, Ethical Culture, and others to join us as we work with HCH to build humanist community in Boston.
FREE PARKING in the Littauer Library Lot near the Science Center will be available during the event: Enter the Science Quadrangle from Oxford St. and follow the road through to its end in the Science Center/Law Library area. Phillips Brooks House is in the very corner of Harvard Yard (which is also accessible by the MBTA).
