I am very excited to announce this highly practical workshop where Milly Rueda (Yoga Teacher) and I will be using the ancient teachings of yoga and meditation to facilitate an out-of-body experience. Participants will have the opportunity to experience an OBE (out-of-body experience) during the workshop.
There are many ways to have an OBE. For the purposes of this workshop we will be attempting to retain conscious awareness throughout the entire process. We will be using the model of description that assumes that we have a physical body and that we can leave it using our energy body.
Yoga brings the body into a state of rest through breath, movement and concentration to unlock and balance the energetic centres of the body. One specifically and repeatedly, uses the breath, body positioning and relaxed state to facilitate concentration, withdrawal of the senses and energy flow in order to enter into a “oneness” communion state.
Yoga serves many purposes in the path to having an OBE.
• It brings full awareness to the physical body. This heightened focus will be applied to raising your awareness to a level where you can perceive your energy body.
• Yoga relaxes the body. This helps you to fully let go of your
physical attachment as you transfer your awareness to the non
• Yoga helps centre you so that you will feel calm when faced with potential symptoms that can occur preceding an OBE. You will find this very useful if you have ever felt any fear surrounding the out-of-body practices.
• Pranayama, is a yogic breath work technique that helps you enter
deeper meditative states. Breath work acts as a direct channel from your conscious mind into your subconscious processes.
• Spending time on any practice preceding an OBE attempt, solidifies intention and routes it firmly in your subconscious minds.
If you do not manage to have an out-of-body experience do not be discouraged as repeating these practice will certainly optimise your chances and will bring numerous other benefits into your life.
If possible please bring a warm blanket or sleepingbag, cushion and yoga mat and wear comfy loose clothing. If you don't have a yoga mat don't worry just let us know and we can bring you one.
About the teachers:
During the last 12 years I have explored a variety of yoga styles; Ashtanga, Hatha, Kundalini, Iyengar, Jivamukti and have also been inspired and taught by teachers from different schools of Yoga. Drawing from these diverse paths, I teach a flowing, dynamic, energising as well as relaxing yoga class. Working intensely with the vital breath, encouraging a deeper mind-body awareness, I weave classical asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), guiding you towards stillness and inviting meditation.
Over the last 7 years, since becoming a full time yoga teacher, I embarked on a deep spiritual journey. In this journey I was initiated to the plant medicine Ayahuasca in Brazil which opened a door to the exploration into higher states of being, teachings from shamanic practices and the expansion of consciousness. I am currently in London and run workshops in Brazil at Spirit Vine Ayahuasca Retreats, www.spiritvine.net.
I am Lucid dream and OBE teacher and I run the Conscious Explorers group. I have been having OBEs, lucid dreams and all sorts of interesting dream phenomena since I was a child. I have studied (and am constantly learning) about spirituality, consciousness, philosophy, psychology and the human psyche. Officially I have trained in trained in Music, Cognitive Science, Philosophy & NLP.
