I experienced a spiritual awakening 30 years ago, but over time found myself getting further and further away from my exploration of Spirit. But recently, my life as I had known it for many, many a year came to an abrupt end, and it has resulted in a second spiritual awakening within me.
I like what you wrote: "In addition to discussion, exchange of ideas and experiences I see our group caring for and helping first of all to each other, but then passing our conscious further onto the world for the sake of others."
Oh my goodness, so many writers and teachers: Baba Ram Dass, Stephen Levine, Paramhansa Yogananda, Swami Muktananda, Baghwan Shree Rajneesh, Sathya Sai Baba, A Course In Miracles, the Seth Material, the Findhorn Foundation, Ken Keyes, Ken Carey, Ken Wilber - and so many others. But more recently, Eckhart Tolle, Neale Donald Walsch, Abraham-Hicks, and the Anastasia books.
A chance visit to an isolated corner of a bookstore in 1979 resulted in my picking up the book "Passages About Earth", by William Irwin Thompson, which in turn introduced me to Findhorn, and to Auroville, and to a number of other sacred spots on this precious planet of ours. A second, seemingly unrelated visit to yet another isolated corner of yet another bookstore resulted in my "stumbling" upon a slim volume entitled "The Magic Of Findhorn". The rest, as they say, is history.
Tough question. But I think the fact that Truth is paramount to me. Not simply relative truth, but absolute/unmodified/direct Truth. No matter how complicated or distracting or seductive life becomes, sooner or later I return to my desire to move beyond the world of duality and to experience Truth.
Hi, Edward - I have been a spiritual seeker for many years now, and I would like to join a group of like-minded individuals, especially those influenced by Eckhart Tolle.
