Pictures, especially the ones we take underwater, show people a world they might otherwise not know exists. Growing up as a kid in Colorado, I was obsessed with any book I could get my hands on that had pictures of the ocean. It can make you fall in love with a place you've never been, and grow up to want to protect it.
Anything underwater, but especially big things (recently humpbacks) and macro photography (recently pygmy seahorses). They present very different challenges.
