Thai Me Up, Thai Me Down--Thai Cooking Class and Feast

Imagine the flavors of Thailand... Thai red curry: lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, shallots, garlic, and dried red chillies.  Thai food is full of such amazing, complex and exotic flavors.  Come enjoy the tastes of Thailand in this hands on class and following feast.  We will be preparing soup, a massaman style curry, a Thai salad, and banana lumpia with coconut lime ice cream for dessert.  Cost includes recipes, dinner, and accompanying Thai inspired beverages.  Each participant will also take home a box of goodies Thai ingredients from class (lemon grass, galangal, thai chiles, etc.).

    As with all the classes I've done at Denise's, this one was fantastic! Thai isn't one of my favorite cuisines, though I'm developing a taste for those flavors and ingredients. This was a wonderful introduction to Thai flavor profiles and dishes. I love that there is hands-on work involved, not just watching the chef do her thing. Some other classes around town are more demo than hands-on. This is a nice blend of both. And I love love love that we got to eat a great meal (that we all made!) when we were done! As a bonus, Denise prepared a to-go box with leftovers for each of us, AND a little care package with ingredients for us to use at home later: lemongrass, galangal, Thai chilies, tamarind paste, and some loose leaf Thai tea!

    Jenny, the curry we make in class is a more complex version of what I made for you and Randy. It uses whole dried spices in addition to the massaman curry paste, etc. super yummy.
