Super Bowl Feast

  • Feb 6, 2011 · 3:00 PM

Welcome to Wayland's annual Super Bowl Party. As always there will be a wonderful spread of food. Bring whatever you like. As usual, you will be asked to explain your dish to the other attendees. Don't worry if it happens to be a simple salad or something made by Ralph's or Costco. I will have an outdoor and an indoor grill if you want to bring something to cook. For football fans, there will be 3 viewing areas. The backyard, the living room with a 9 foot screen, and the kitchen (which tends to be the most popular area, even though it has the smallest screen). The address to my Carlsbad home will be provided to those who RSVP.

This was not the big blow-out of past Superbowls where one team dominated to the point of boredom in the 3rd & 4th quarters. It was actually kinda close to the end for a change! That said, I'm kinda sorry to have seen as many people leave in the 3rd quarter. But as usual, it was a fantastic potluck with Wayland's salmon as one of the biggest stars of the evening. I'm sure many of the chefs I know would agree on the excellent texture and subtle flavoring that enhanced but did not overpower the fish.

Thanks for those who have contacted me and let me know what they are bringing. For those who haven't I trust that you will live up to the spirit of this group and bring something other than a bag of chips. Vegetables, and a fruit salad would be nice since no one has offered yet. For others who are still looking for a place to go, the No County Happy Hour group just posted an event. I look forward to seeing you all.

Okay folks, important message, Please read it all the way thru. My last head count is 50 people. This includes people from this list, Crazzy Azz Singles and family and friends that I have invited. Everyone should have received my address by separate email. If you did not get a message from me, please do not be offended. I only have so much space to accommodate people. See my additional messages.

Apologies to all on the Waiting List for my late cancellation. A family issue has come up that I must address tomorrow.
