Italian Potluck and Hands-on Tiramisu Making Class~!

Tiramisu....lovely layers of of Italian goodness that transport you back to the Rome, is one of my all-time favorite beautiful to behold as it is to eat.....(well almost)....sure to impress your friends at your next dinner party!


Fellow member Jill, has offered to teach you her recipe for this amazing creation in a hands-on cooking class.....followed by an Italian potluck dinner party.

Here's how you will "roll":


1.     Each guest is to bring one of the follow selections as their contribution to the dinner party:

A.     Gluten Free bread and a "spread" to go on before warming in the oven (think Rosemary-Butter, Parmesan Spread, Garlic Spread....or come up with something on your own or off a web-site).  You can either make the bread (for those of you who are very ambitious) or you can purchase from a store of Gluten-Free bakery (my favorite GF bakery is Cascadia and they have a LARGE selection of GF bread and are open on Saturdays).

B.      Pasta Sauce....enough to serve 6.

C.      Salad...enough to serve 6

D.      Regular Pasta and Gluten Free Pasta (GF pasta is readily available at almost all supermarkets).


You will start the evening making Tiramisu hands-on (INCLUDING making home-made lady-fingers!!), and then will move on to dinner, followed by your delicious and beautiful Tiramisu~~!


2.      This is a bring your own beverage (wine, beer, soft beverage) event so please bring what you would like to drink with the intent to share with the other guests .


3.     Fee for the event is $12.50 per person and includes instruction, recipe, dinner, dessert and shared beverages plus a very small amount for website and amazon fees....HOW COOL IS THAT??  Fee is refundable if event is rescheduled or canceled.  As this is a very limited size event please make sure you can make if before RSVPing....thank you!


4.  You MUST post what you will be bringing (see above choice A, B, C, or D) when you RSVP under comments for all to see as SOON as you RSVP.  Failure to do so will result in my having to remove your RSVP as the others need to see what you are bringing so they can plan their selection....again....thank you for understanding .

    Directions to my apartment:

    plan to drive to the Clackamas Town Center
    enter the Town Center at the movie theater entrance
    park the furthest away from the Macy's Home Store as possible (my apartment complex has no guest parking but the Town Center is right there, how great!)
    Cross the street (Monterey Springs)
    Enter the apartment complex called Reflections (sign right next to a small driveway)
    You will enter a complex with blue/grayish buildings and a letter L facing you.
    Walk up to the first right after the parking structure
    walk up the stairs and I am the first right door (L205)

    It is actually quite easy.

    Thank you all for being interested in this event. I am looking so forward to teaching others how to make tiramisu! So for the class we will be making homemade gluten free lady fingers, the cream items and then assembling it all together. I will have a print out of the lady finger and tiramisu recipes. By the way, the lady finger recipe calls for regular flour and I just replace with gluten free flour. So you can use the recipe either way. I am planning to make 2 whole batches of the tiramisu. 1/2 recipe to assemble for our dinner and the other 1 1/2 recipe for you all to take home. Please bring a container to assemble a portion to take home with you.
