Join us for an awesome evening as Baker and Spice Cakery hosts a booking signing and cooking demo as part of their new culinary event series "Pages to Plate".
John Gorham, 4 time James Beard award nominated chef and Chef of the Year winner for Portland Monthly magazine, is my FAVORITE Portland chef. His is the chef/owner of Toro Bravo, Tasty and Sons and Tasty and Alder and has also worked and consulted on many other successful restaurants both here and nationally. He just released his first cookbook "Toro Bravo: Stories, Recipes, No Bull". In this book, readers can look forward to 100 Toro Bravo recipes along with essays on everything from Toro Bravo's unique take on service, to the restaurants playful take on advertising, and Gorhams travels throughout Spain. It will celebrate the beauty of the wild, loud and deeply social Spanish tapas cuisine and the culture and therefore beauty of wild, loud and deeply social Toro Bravo.
Joining Chef Gorham will be Liz Crain, food and feature writer/editor who helped author the book with CG.
Before the event we will meet up next door at Korkage Wine Shop for Happy Hour/Snacks/Dinner. Korkage is a cute local wine shop with small and large plates designed to pair with wine. You may order off their regular menu (small and large plates) or choose some of the select Happy Hour items. Their will be specials on wine pours.
Space is extremely limited so please only RSVP if you are sure you can make it. $2.50 fee goes to cover website and meetup fees as I don't charge a yearly or "joining fee"......(this also greatly reduces the "dreaded no-shows" and last minute cancellations)....thanks for understanding.....:-)
Hope you can join us for what I am sure will be a fantastic evening!!
