Hands-on Donut Class and Potluck Sunday Brunch~~(with Mimosa's!)

Who doesn't love donuts??  A glazed donut and nice hot cup of coffee is a match made in heaven and a lot has been happening in the world of donuts in the last few years...."Boutique bakeries" are popping up all over the U.S. and "designer donuts" are all the you really want to stand in line for TWO HOURS to get your morning "fix"......Yeah, I'm talking to YOU VOODOO :-).

So.....GOOD NEWS....fellow member and rockstar baker Erin, has agreed to give a donut making class in her apartment in NW Portland.  Erin will be providing complete instruction, mimosas and coffee.  "On the menu" provided by Erin will probably be 1 cake donut recipe and 1 yeast donut-shaped recipe PLUS donut holes---with minimal icing such as powdered sugar or a drizzle of sauce such as salted caramel or creme anglais.  How can you resist??

Attendees will bring a SAVORY brunch potluck item (so you don't end up eating coffee cake with your donuts :-)).'s how we will roll:

1.  Arrive PROMPTLY at 10:30 a.m. (if you get there a little early....go grab a cup of joe as she will still be setting up :-)).  

2.   Bring a SAVORY dish for a brunch potluck.  It should be fully prepared as there is minimal available kitchen space.  Portions should serve 4-6 people.  If you RSVP for TWO, you will need to bring two dishes.  PLEASE PUT WHAT YOU ARE BRINGING under the comments section so that all can see.....we want to avoid  having 6 egg and potato casseroles...... :-)

3.   Bring some to-go containers and baggies as you may want to split up any leftover brunch items.

4.    Fee include instruction, written recipes, supplies, donuts and a lovely brunch with mimosa's~~!.....and a small amount for the website and meetup fees as I don't charge members a joining fee or yearly fee.  A GREAT price considering the fees at cooking schools around town START at about 60.00 a class.

This is going to be EXTRA yummy......whip these up to the envy of your friends and co-workers and snub your nose at the long lines at Voodoo and Bluestar :-)~~!
