Købstaden: a one-stop platform for convenient online shopping
Shopping online is difficult, expensive and cluttered - both for buyer and seller. Købstaden is a young danish startup, currently in beta, that aims to change this by establishing a web-based shopping center where stores can get a all-inclusive webshop that's both simple and inexpensive.
Marketing, shipping, stock handling, scaling and a beautiful modern interface design at competitive prices with the synergetic power of a common shopping center experience. Users reaps the benefits of a one-stop location with cross-store product browsing, checkout with a simple shipping model everybody can understand.
It's safe to say that it's a bold vision that calls for a big appetite - fortunately, the team behind is very hungry...
The Grit Stack - rapid UI-driven web development
Platforms, frameworks and languages change in rapid pace and the industry calls for quick development cycles and scalability to keep up with the competition.
Købstaden developers will present their take on the challenge and dive into some of the learnings that they found throughout the process.
The custom stack behind the platform is a combination of modern webdev tools and well-proven technologies - they call it the Grit stack and consists of (among other): Python, webapp2, ndb, Mootools, Sass, Compass, Google App Engine and more.
