Iron Horse Tavern
507 7th Street Northwest Washington D.C., District of Columbia (map)
Let's come together for the first Cord Cutters community meetup to celebrate cord cutting, learn from each other and connect with likeminded Cord Cutters.
Ever since we started our weekly Cord Cutters web series last fall, we?ve been just blown away by the creativity and inventiveness of our audience.
We've been testing devices and services that help you to get rid of pay TV, but you have really been the ones that make it work in living rooms all across the U.S. every day. That's why we want to celebrate you, our audience, on April 26 with a number of Cord Cutters meetups across the U.S. and Canada. We'd like to call it Cord Cutters Day.
Check out our announcement post if you want to come to a meetup or help to set one up in your own town: http://gigaom.com/video/cord-cutters-day-meetup![]()

Location confirmed: We will meet at Iron Horse Tavern in Chinatown, and we will have the upstairs section. Look forward to meeting you all!
Posted by Jenn Ettinger April 25, 2011Now that we have a location, I'd like to discuss an agenda.
What are others doing to cut and/or 'stretch' the cord? By 'stetch' I mean supplementing a less-expensive cable package.
What are you curious about/interested in doing?
Posted by Bruce Qua April 25, 2011I'd like to start a discussion of location. I'm in the Navy Yard, is everyone else convenient to the District?
Posted by Bruce Qua April 25, 2011No objections here, though I was just reminded that I have a conflict at 6p tomorrow. So I may not be able to meet you guys tomorrow night. But I am interested in connecting with this group. Going cordless in May when I move into the District.
Posted by Chad April 25, 2011Jenn, that sounds promising, especially if the separate room is available. Chad, I'm planning to arrive early (5'ish) wherever we decide, if that helps you.
