CoreOS Meetup: MemSQL + Kubernetes + Deis

Update!:  We're bringing 50 very limited CoreOS shirts - come early if you want your size! We're also bringing Coreos (CoreOS Oreos) for the first 80 people.  :-D

We have some great speakers lined up for the August meetup. You'll hear MemSQL talk about their 107 node cluster on CoreOS, Deis talk about how Deis integrates with CoreOS and Google talk about and demo Kubernetes.  Join us for great talks, food and networking.

6:00 - 6:30

Drinks, Food and Networking

6:30 - 7:00

Running A 107 Node Cluster on CoreOS

Join Carl Sverre, Senior Software Engineer at MemSQL to learn more about how he is using CoreOS to test a massive scale high performance database.  Carl is running a 107 node database cluster entirely on CoreOS. PXE Booting is the norm and dynamic scaling of the cluster is routine. Carl will walk us through how he set up CoreOS and what he has learned along the way.

7:00 - 7:30

Deis and CoreOS

Deis is a lightweight application platform (PaaS) that allows developers to deploy and manage Twelve-Factor applications on CoreOS using a Heroku-inspired workflow.  Join Gabriel Monroy, the project creator, as he demoes Deis and explains how it integrates with CoreOS.

7:30 - 8:30

Kubernetes and etcd

Kubernetes is an open source manager for Docker containers, based on Google’s experience using containers at Internet scale.  Tim Hockin and Daniel Smith will join us from Google to tell us more about Kubernetes, discuss why they chose etcd as their distributed key value store and show us Kubernetes in action.

Quick question for the host: is there room for bikes or should we find a way to park them outside? Looking forward to tonight's meetup!

There is a rack inside with 4-5 slots but plan for it to be full just in case.
