Ruston Way Walkway

South End Reschedule - seeing as Point Defiance is hosting the Taste of Tacoma, let's walk along Ruston Way Instead.  Meet near Duke's Chowder House - not sure of parking so leave Corgis in car incase we have to reroute. Bring plenty of water because it is going to warm up.  Not sure if there will be water access or not.

I will only make the trip down if 3 or more people are signed up.

This two-mile long scenic waterfront with panoramic views of Commencement Bay is a great place for walking, jogging, rollerblading and fishing.

Thanks for coming up with this solution Kathy!!! Even though it was getting hot out, there are plenty of trees along the way that provide great shade! Plus we met new corgis and owners!!!!

I am glad I was forced to make this change. What a great alternative to Point Defiance. Ruston Way is Tacoma's answer to Seattle's Alki Beach Trail. It may even be better as it is less crowded, has more trees creating nice shaded areas, has restrooms along the way, and the dogs are able to go on the beach and into the water. This walk is good for many fitness levels as you can walk as far as you want and their are many benches to allow for resting when needed. I will definitely schedule this one again.
Thanks for being good sports and taking this change in stride (pun intended). Stay as cool as can be the remainder of the week.
