A Very Corgi Howloween at Green Lake

Corgi Halloween around Green Lake

The event of the year:  Our annual corgi costume walk at Green Lake. Meet near the rowing center. This is always a fun event.

Green Lake Small Craft Center
Address: 5900 West Green Lake Way N, 98103

We have been training all year with our monthly walks around Green Lake.  Start thinking about costumes for you and your dog. At least think about dressing up your shoes as they are what appears in the photos when you own a  corgi. Maybe we should all wear orange shoes and orange socks.  What do you think?

Let's keep this event fun and safe for all.

Please know your dog.  Not all dogs like to be dressed up. You do not need to put a costume on your dog if that would cause unneeded stress. Also, be aware that your dog may not like other dogs in costume.  Please take extra care when introducing your costumed dog to another costumed dog.  Reactions may be a little different than normal.

PS. the Green Lake Pumpkin Dash in on Sunday not Saturday so I don't think we will run into extra traffic from that. But if you know of any events going on in the area please let others know so we can plan accordingly.  Green Lake is a popular place and many events are held here.  Traffic and parking can sometimes be problematic.  Keep in mind that Woodland Park has plenty of parking just above our meeting spot that can be utilized.

Hello! I love corgis and don't have one yet, but wanted to come and take some pictures of all the lovely costumes. Here's a link to my album: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hiyezz/sets/72157637062458636/

    Enjoy!

Melissa - you are an excellent photographer and my son and I very much appreciate the pictures that you took of all of the corgis, and especially - of our fairly un-photogenic Thorgi. thanks sherry and Justin

We had a day of grins and laughs Even the silly side of Thorgi came to his face. Loved the imaginative costumes. Yes! Corgis know how to have fun! Sherry, Justin Ruby, Thorgi awesomecorgis.com

We really had some laughs. Thanks to all of you that took such great pictures! Anybody see the "yellow submarine"? I missed it somehow! "Furmaid" was adorable. And being the horse lover that I am - all the corgis with saddles won my heart. Loved the one with the vest and pistols too. Thanks for the fun! Justin and Sherry-

So many amazing costumes. It was great to see so many out today. What a beautiful day for a walk. We sure turned some heads. We may need law enforcement and crowd control patrol if this gets any bigger next year.

    IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ>
Please meet by the rowing stands and make your way up the rowing stands if they are not being used. Try not to block parking areas and walking paths with this many people and corgis. We will get some group photos taken on the rowing stand before we begin.
We will walk counter clockwise around the lake (the lake on our left) if you are running late or want to pick up with us along the way
Keep to the left of the yellow line as much as possible. The right side is for wheels (bikes, skates and such).
We will probably be walking at different paces and spread out eventually around the lake. Find somebody your speed to walk with.
    Be calm and have fun.
    This could get chaotic. :)

I am leaving my three corgis in Marysville because I believe that between all the whining and crying in the car to Green Lake, freak out at all the dogs in costumes, and subsequent drive BACK to Marysville, they will be much happier less stressed at home...but I plan on taking pics of the walk and will show them and post on my FB if that's okay :P If there is ever something closer to Snohomish County (Everett, WA north) I would love to know though and will keep checking! Meantime can't wait for Sat AM!

I am moving out to Seattle from Wisconsin the beginning of October. This will be a great event for my corgi, Tedd, and I to attend. We'll both be excited to make new friends.

Where in Wisconsin?! My boyfriend and I will be there tomorrow, we both moved here from Wisconsin. Devyn is our corgi and she'll be dressed as a squirrel. Find us!

      October 25, 2013

    • Gina A.

Tedd is my corgi and he will be dressed as a yellow submarine. We are from Eau Claire.

      October 25, 2013

  • Sherry M.

Sherry and Justin {awesomecorgis.com} are excited. We traded corgi’s for the costume themes – so – Justin will have Thorgi {who so far is NOT as excited as we are} he will be easy to identify – look for the mope on his big face. I {Sherry} will have long RED hair and Ruby {who is a much better sport than Thorgi} will be in Purple. Please say hello - maybe it will cheer Thorgi up.

My wife and I will be attending, we just moved back to Seattle after being away for too long. We're looking to add a corgi to our lives and maybe these events will be just what we need :)

Lucy & I will see you all there. Her costume is so awesome:-)

  • DJDole

We'll go if we can. (Not sure at the moment though.)

    October 22, 2013

  • Jennifer V.

Batdog (Avi) and I will be there. Also, I just wanted to throw it out there- afterwards I am going to let Avi romp around in the Offleash area just above the tennis courts (very short walk from our starting/ending point for the walk), in case anyone else wants to let their corgis play free of leash.
