Second Saturday Green Lake Walk

Back, by popular demand.

A once a month walk around Green Lake. Let's gather on the second Saturday of each month to celebrate Corginess. We can do a lap (or two for those needing to get really tired out). This is a central location and able to accomodate many.  We can gather for coffee before or lunch afterwards, but plan on starting the walk at 9am and spending an hour or two walking.  (extreme weather will cancel, normal Seattle rain - probably not).

ABOUT THE PARK

Green Lake is one of Seattle’s most beloved parks. Its expanse of water and green space in the center of a dense urban neighborhood draws thousands of people daily from all over the city. The park serves as a natural preserve for hundreds of species of trees and plants, as well as numerous birds and waterfowl. The newly reconstructed 2.8-mile path around the lake provides a perfect recreational spot for runners, bikers, skaters and walkers. Many others use the athletic fields or visit the park for boating, picnics and swimming. Also, make sure to visit the Green Lake Small Craft Center.

Missed out on this meetup because it didn't align well with our sleep schedule.
Will try to attend future meets that are in the afternoon. :)

We meet at 9am by the small craft rowing center. There is usually plenty of parking but there is always the woodland park parking lot with just a short trail walk down.
We begin walking shortly after 9am (it is hard to keep a group of corgis waiting, but do I need to tell you that) and walk counter clockwise - the lake to our left- so if you are running late you can pick us up somewhere along the route. We are pretty hard to miss.
We tend to walk at different paces but try to make a point to gather at certain spots to allow all to catch up. Not everybody makes it all the way around so come out and do what you can. Find somebody your speed and introduce yourself. This is what this meet up is all about.
There is an off leash park in woodland park just above where we meet so if you want some play time afterwards you can make arrangements to do so with others on our walk
Bring poop bags, leashes, good walking shoes, water and a good attitude.

Will try to make it on time, but not sure if we can get there early enough. So does the walk start for sure at 10am?
