Hello Coworkers! Hope you all have rejuvenating holidays and a successful start to the New Year. In this email: JellyLA in 2010; DIY PR & Social Media Workshop; Neighborgoods.

Our resolution for 2010 is to become a true community resource for Small-Business Owners and Freelancers. This means a lot of things, and we welcome your feedback as your are the community we are trying to serve! We'll start with:
  • free coworking at multiple locations around Los Angeles;
  • casual networking and fun events (like Happy Hours and Movie Nights);
  • maintaining a small events calendar of other happenings around LA.

Coworker Aviva Mohilner is starting up a Do-It-Yourself PR and Social Media Workshop called CommuniCamp. It's a four-week course that she'll be offering throughout the year. I spoke with Aviva on Friday. She has two spots open for the workshop starting this Tuesday, Jan 19, and will offer a deep discount for any JellyLA member that would like to attend.

Aviva has a fantastic motivating energy, and the workshop information will save your business thousands. To attend, call Aviva at[masked] or visit the soon-to-launch Remember to mention JellyLA to get your deep discount!

Speaking of saving money? If you don't know about Neighborgoods, go find out! It's a community of over 2000 mostly-LA residents sharing all types of things you may need (freely or by rental). Founder Micki Krimmel has lent out all kinds of goods: a mustard-bottle costume, her juicer?she even almost had her hiking backpack going to Haiti with a friend this past week!

I'm on sharing mostly books right now, but as soon as I sort through my closet you bet I'll have more fun stuff for you to borrow ; ).

So, join NeighborGoods and start saving AND earning money by sharing stuff with your friends!

Thanks for reading. Keep an eye out for upcoming coworking events (to be posted soon!).
