Color Management Made Easy

Please note that by RSVP'ing on Meetup, you are not registered for this workshop. To register, call Cottonwood Center for the Arts at[masked]-1899.

Color management is the process of calibrating your monitor, printer and camera to achieve proper color output from your equipment, whether you're viewing your images on your computer, sending them to a lab to make prints or printing yourself. This is a subject that many people find confusing but it's necessary to learn if you are a photographer or graphic designer since using a calibrated monitor is crucial to your workflow.

If you've ever tried making you're own prints, you probably got very frustrated trying to match them to your monitor. Or you may have sent files to a lab only to be disappointed in the results when you received your prints. Having the proper knowledge and equipment will save you a lot of time and money.

This workshop is designed to help everyone learn proper color-management techniques by simplifying the concepts and demonstrating camera, monitor and printer calibration using the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport, i1Display Pro and the i1Photo Pro2. Once you see the equipment in action you'll realize how easy color management can be.

I would love to learn about color calibration, but Co Spgs is too far for me to go. Are you planning another in Denver?

This will probably be my last color-management class for the year.

Mike, I have been called out on a business trip so I have to cancel my attendance. Is there any possibility of a one on one?

In 2012, I contributed when you were trying to get things going. Could that count as payment now?

Unfortunately, I will be out of the area and will not be able to attend. Looking forward to the next color management class when I get back.
