My first air show... Haven't had a chance to go pull my pictures, my hard drive is getting full. So running to best buy to see about a new external drive... I took so many pictures, I hope I have a few keepers. Wish it had not rained. Still fun tho!!

Another good tip is to put your camera/lenses and other paraphernalia in Ziploc bags and see thru containers. The security guy was very happy he didn't have to have me take out & open everything I zipped right thru. I'm sure security will be tighter tomorrow.

Air show was fantastic! I got there @ 0840 and for the show I stood on the left side of the announcers stand (as your facing the runways). Better to be on the right side and the Wings of Blue will land right in front of you! Got great shots under canopy and of the planes. Took way too many photos so it will take me a while to go thru them.
Memorable story: I was photographing a plane on the tarmac with my back to some food vendors-one of their cooker pots blew, sent the pot skyward and it sounded like a bomb- I dove for the pavement as did a few others. Talk about getting your heart rate up! Last thing on my mind was using my camera!
All ya'll have a great shoot tomorrow!

Never been to the airshow before, Is there a good place to shoot from? Any tips on what lenses to use? I'm guessing it would be like the T-birds and at least a 200mm telephoto would work.

I haven't been to this airshow, so I don't have any recommendations on places to shoot from. You're going to want a mix of lenses because the airplanes will be on display on the tarmac as well.
