Denver Butterfly Pavilion Invertebrate Tripod & Macro Event

This will be a fun and educational photography event located at the Denver Butterfly Pavilion in a new and exciting environment. This event will be a private tripod session course led by one of the Pavilion's staff where emphasis will be placed on tripod use and macro to bring out the detail of the subject.

As stated by the DBP website; "Relish a quiet hour of photography in our tropical conservatory before we open our doors to the general public. Snap photos of awakening butterflies and exotic tropical flowers in the morning light...Join us for an up-close and practical look at photographing invertebrates! Classes focus on photography of invertebrates in our gardens, along the natural trails, and inside the tropical conservatory. All skill levels are welcome!"

We will also be raffling off several great photographic gifts free of charge from Zenfolio and Hejnar Photo to those participants in attendance.

Space is limited at this event to 23 participants. Fees are $15 for non-pavilion members; $12 if you are a member. Please RSVP here first so we are able to keep track of numbers and follow by contacting Marissa Copan for payment at[masked] or email; [masked]. Pre-payment by phone is preferred.

Information that will be required upon reservation:
Phone Number:
Email Address:
Butterfly Pavilion Membership Status:
Preferred Method of Payment: CC's are accepted over the phone as well.

Please keep track of payment methods and receipts just in case.

Please contact either Mike or myself with any questions. If you are interested, we are looking to grab breakfast after the event at a local spot with location TBD to go over topics discussed in the course. This could be another great opportunity to meet fellow photographers and share knowledge.

Hope to see you all there!

Thank you so much Mike and Joe I captured a LOT of great images, unlike my last visit. I had to pry myself to leave. Thanks for the door prizes as well. Michael is extremely appreciative.

The event was fun and seeing not only butterflies, but plants, flowers, and moisture. Yes, be sure to warm your gear before entering in winter.

Thanks to everyone that made it to this event! This location was a blast - thank you Mike! - and hopefully you all got some great images that you can add to your portfolios. I had fun talking to each one of you and I hope to see you all again at another event. If you have any thoughts or ideas of future events, please do not hesitate for one minute to contact either Mike or myself and share your thoughts. We are always looking to set up other fun events and the success of the group is due to all of our active members. Thank you! - Joseph

This was a wonderful idea. I had never heard of the Butterfly Pavilion before. I'd like to try it again if there is an evening photo event. Mike, thanks again for loaning me the monopod--it was a huge help. Joseph, it was great to talk to you. I look forward to seeing your (and everyone else's) pictures.

The $15 cost includes admission for the day. We can stay as long as we want, but tripods need to be put away after 9 a.m. when the doors open to the public. Monopods can be used after 9.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
