Make Aromatic Ornaments!

Come poke cloves into your citrus fruit to make a pomander! Or, mix up some cinnamon dough and use a cookie cutter (or knife, if you're dextrous) to cut out a shape! Hang your yummy-smelling thingies in the closet, on the tree, or wherever you need to stink pretty!

Necessary tools and ingredients will be provided, but if you'd like to bring anything feel free (cloves, oranges, lemons, cookie cutters, ribbon, etc.). Cinnamon ornaments will need to dry after you make them, so we'll have waxed paper to cart them home on.

Edit: If you make an applesauce/cinnamon ornament, you'll need to either bake it for a couple hours or let it dry for a couple of days. We'll have waxed paper so that you can take it home with you.

Hey Marie - I've got a pile of bamboo skewers, and I was wondering if those would work in place of the nails, or if the point is maybe too long. They look like this: http://upload.wikimed...

Those will work. The hole doesn't have to be very deep, just wide enough to accommodate the clove stalk.

HI Here is the list of what is needed for the Spice ornaments. I have the applesauce and can bring cookie cutters. pancake turners, and hole makers. Wine Bottles make good rolling pins as well. The spices sell at Walmart for less than $1.

    What you need:

    1) One bottle(2.37 Oz) of ground cinnamon, Pumpkin or Apple Pie spices - have extra on hand if your dough is too sticky and to dust your work space with. •2) 1/4 to 1/2 cup of applesauce (provided)

Tools: Rolling Pin (cover with plastic wrap) Or smooth bottle
Cookie sheet or flat carrying surface
    Cookie cutters (marked w/ID)
Cocktail straw (something to poke opening)
    Wax paper or Foil
    Pancake Spatula
    Bowl w/lid (for mixing/keeping dough)
    Stirring spoon
    Decorations (glitter, beads, etc.)

You can if you'd like to contribute or there's something particular you'd like to use, but we'll have plenty as well :)
