Glad Dogs Nation Toy Making

  • Jan 18, 2014 · 3:00 PM
  • Ellen & Ira's House (Brooke and Casey's Mommy and Daddy)

Come spend a productive afternoon making toys for Glad Dogs Nation.  Glad Dogs Nation is a local organization which sells the toys and donates the profits to enable many animals to be spayed and neutered.  We will sew squeakers inside stuffed toys to make them dog-friendly.  You don't have to be an experienced seamstress or tailor to sew these toys.  This is a human only meetup (the dogs would probably steal all the toys for themselves) and will be a fun time to socialize with other Crazy Dogs while giving our time for a worthwhile purpose.  After we have made the toys, we can all chip in and order pizza or other food to reward ourselves for a job well done.

This meetup will be limited to 10 people (that's all I can seat comfortably in my dining room).

It was nice to do something to help other dogs, and to learn about Glad Dogs Nation and its mission. Thanks Ellen for your hospitality too.

I was really hoping that I could attend this event..and I was holding out until the point where I didn't want to leave you stuck if others were able to help. I hurt my hand last week and it is still giving me a hard time..and for that reason, I am feeling that you would be better off with others taking my spot. I am very sorry..but maybe next time! Have a great time! If my hand is doing much better and I see you still have a slot available, could I let you know that same day?

hi Ellen! i thought this could be a good activity to bring my Little Sister Gabby to--she's now 11 and would love to help. Is is ok to bring her, or is this a "grown ups only" event?

I think this would be a good experience for her helping out another organization. You're setting such a good example for her!

Hi. I don't sew either (not surprised?) But i'll stop by and cheer you all on for a little. Do you need half chewed toys? i have plenty of those.

Thanks for making me feel better about coming! It sounds like fun..but I don't have a clue when it comes to sewing. Let me check my schedule and I will get back to you as soon as I am sure I can commit!

The sewing is very easy. I can teach you.

Do worry about the sewing? It's not a big deal. I don't sew either. I have done bags already. Just have fun :) Marianne is just so happy we are helping.
