Calling all Foodies!
We are planning a little rendezvous to Borough Market and hope you can join us. If you love food or cooking, you will immensely enjoy the market. I have been there a few times and can show you some of my favourite places/ eats. The farmers and vendors are happy for you to sample some cheese / olives/ breads/ oils etc and you will have a lovely time amid some incredible produce. More about the market: http://www.boroughmarket.org.uk/visit-us
The market opens officially at noon but most stalls as setup by 11.30am. We'll fuel up with a lovely coffee at Monmouth Coffee, a few yards away from Rabot and then venture into the market.
It gets really busy by 1230/1 as the office crowd comes in for lunch but we should manage. we are restricting our total group size to 8 else moving around gets a bit hard. Also please be there by 1115 so we can get in and have as much time before it gets busy.
Charges: There will be a £1.50 meetup fee which you can pay online to reserve your spot. this is towards admin expenses only and non-refundable as it is a nominal amount. Everything else, you pay as you go and for whatever you wish to try. There are some free samples. Please note there is no cash machine in the market and most vendors only take cash. I would suggest you carry atleast 15£ in cash (if you want to eat and buy some things for home).
Travel: Best tube/train station to aim for us London Bridge. If coming on the tube, as you step out of the platform (before you take any steps or escalators), you walk into a central atrium which has a big signage for Borough High street. follow that and come out of the turnstiles from that exit and you should be nearer to stoney street.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do let me know.
