Craft Exchange/sale

  • Apr 26, 2014 · 10:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

I have loads of crafts items I would like to get rid of, some for free and some for sale. I wondered if anybody else was doing a clear out of their craft stash and would like to create an event.

Some of the items I am looking to get rid of are: Cricut machine and accessories, ribbon, albums, scrapbooking kits, melt pot, embossing powder, etc.

I am not sure how this would work or where we would have it but any ideas would be appreciated. I would like to avoid eBay as I think this would be more fun.

So please let me know what you think!

The 7th June is the next craft workshop, which is a community event which I run with my employer SHP www.shp.org.uk. Here you have access to sewing machines, material, knitting, jewellery making etc.

If anyone is interested in coming along for a craft exchange please let me know. The session runs between 11-3.30. We have free unlimited tea, cake and nibbles. If I have enough replies I would be happy to organise this. Otherwise you are all welcome to come along at:

Unit 6, 6 Northampton Street, London N1 2HY (off Essex Rd). Free parking after 1.30pm

Hello everyone! We have met this morning with Janice, Sylvie and myself, but were disappointed that more people could not make it. The Stingray coffee shop opened early to accommodate us. It would've been nice if people could have let us know ahead of time if they were unable to attend.
It was a useful meeting, we enjoyed each other's company, and are happy to organise something again if others express an interest and are willing to attend. Could anybody give feedback as to what would make the meet-up more convenient for them. Thanks!

Hello. I am at the cafe now hoping that some other people turn up!

I will not be coming now as the items I have are fabrics and the dressmaking group are going to be having a swap/sell more appropriate for fabrics next month at a venue easier for me to get to so I'll go to that one instead.

Royal Festival Hall sounds like a good place - always space there & no hire fee!!

I think it’s fair to say we can’t have it all. From what I can see we’re from all parts of London so a central location works best (this does unfortunately limit what people can bring). You’ve chosen a Saturday which means places may be too busy unless we meet up early. If people are good with that then there are a variety of free venues like Wholefoods foodcourt (High Street Kensington), Westfield foodcourt (Shepherds Bush), Royal Festival Hall (Embankment) and Cafe Nero (Piccadilly Circus). An alternative is choose a weekday in the evening and a location like one of those above.

Would anyone like a pasta machine - great for polymer clay! I will be selling mine for £10 been used ONCE so AS NEW. I'm advertising here as it is a heavy item & I don't drive so don't want it to have a wasted journey!!

Would it possible to hold another one for those that can't make this one in May in Islington? The space is free and we can have a craft session along side it?

    Hi,
The coffee shop I'm referring to is 2 min away from Tufnell Park tube station & right upfront of the bus No 134 on Fortess Road. There is also bus No390 & No4 only few minutes away, in addition to a lot of parking spaces. I can reserve it for this weekend or any other day. Its free. We can have the entire floor. Let me to know. Adrienne

I'd have to come via public transport. Is the location difficult to get to?
I also can't make that weekend as I'm on holiday. Could do the weekend after, though not Saturday morning. Saying that, you won't be able to please everyone so I understand if you stick to that weekend. Lastly, if there's a charge to hire a venue, please let us know as it's only fair to share it.

Hi, I have a perfect place and location. I know a coffee shop on Fortess Road that would let use their premises for free. Its in Tufnell Park and we can have it any day next week or on the weekends. I have some craft's I would like to sell or swap too. Please let me to know. Adrienne[masked]

Hi Brenda, I'm based in West London as well (Ealing). This is a great idea and I'm keen to swap materials/things I have made. However, this meetup was suggested a while ago and I was wondering why no date or venue has been agreed.

If you need more numbers to make it happen, perhaps advertise the event on the other crafty meetup groups. Tf the problem is the venue, another group did a swapping meetup and just used the cafe area on the ground floor in the Royal Festival Hall. There was a good number of us and enough room.

Hi Brenda, i'm in North Ealing and have a clubhouse which could be used for the day. (it's £25 to hire) Lots of space, and a kitchen to make tea/coffee etc. I have a few bits and bobs I would be keen to sell! Look forward to hearing from you

That's great, Brenda. Were you thinking on Saturday or Sunday? Could you please give me a day & time? Should I reserve the room in the coffee shop or my living room? How many people do you think we can expect? As I mentioned, pending the amount of people to attend we now have two different venues. Please keep me posted. I'm so looking forward to it. Thank you.

We can host our next craft sales event in the coffee shop on Fortess Road in Tufnell Park, two doors down from where I live. I could reserve this space for one day this week or during Saturday & Sunday. I would really hope we could organize it before January 20th. Pending the amount of people interested in the craft sale we could even host it in my flat’s living room. It can easily accommodate 15 -20 people. Please keep me posted. I would love to participate in this event if possible. Adrienne[masked]

    Hi all,

Unfortunately the earliest we could hold it in Islington is the 1st February.

If there is enough interest, I'm happy for it to be hosted in Islington but would need confirmation by the end of next week so I can advertise to the current attendees.

Hi, I have some crafts items I would like to get rid of. I'm planning to move within next month or two. I don't want to carry things I don't need with me.
Can we have it this weekend or anytime before January 19th? I'm definitely interested so please count me in. Please keep me posted. Thank you so much.

I am in the middle of craft room renovation (moving to a bigger studio) and am having a major clear out in the process so this would be perfect...perhaps it would be even more fun if we could combine it with some crafting - maybe help to show the capabilities of the goodies we are trading... (any excuse for a bit of crafting )
I would not be in a position to take part in anything for a few weeks as we are mid reno but I would definitely be interested and happy to help
