We are people who meet to be creative in nature.
Our events are outings. We walk to places in nature where we break to be creative. We do not talk during our breaks, but we talk again afterwards to share our creations.
We are an artsy group, not a hiking group. All who seek to create from nature are welcome, whatever your art, whether you write, draw, paint, sculpt, craft, photograph, dance, philosophize, or meditate for inspiration.
Participants are expected to share from time to time, whether you share a creation, an experience, or a revelation. Newcomers do not have to share until they are comfortable doing so.
WHEN WE MEET
We meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, in the morning, to explore places around Austin. These events are planned in advance and have different meeting places.
We also meet most Thursday mornings at the Gus Fruh access to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, off Hwy 360 in South Austin. We may hike there, or we may carpool from there to another destination. Watch the calendar for cancellations.
(1) Boredom is not allowed during our creative breaks. Be prepared to entertain yourself for however long we take.
(2) Talking is not allowed during the creative breaks, except for niceties and necessities. We are there to listen to nature and to our inner muses.
(3) Dogs are not allowed on the hikes. Most of us love dogs, but we're out there to be creative, not to be distracted, and we can't be evaluating each dog for compatibility with the group.
(4) Don't join us just to pick up dates. Join us if you're inspired by nature and will participate in our creative breaks. But if you're single and happen to meet that special person while you're out there, that's fantastic.
These rules keep the group working. Children are welcome if you think they can manage the rules.
