Wedding Photographer In-Flight Training (Lighting & Posing!)

Now we're flying!  Hands-on training in a real church with a real couple, who look like a real bride and groom - with fake flowers.  What's the best way to light them?  Depends.  What's the best way to pose them?  Depends.  We'll show and tell.

First, you'll see how to light and pose formals and portraits, then you'll be able to get your own shots of the poses for your own portfolio!

We'll do formal poses and portrait (romantic) poses like the one to the side here.  Yes, first you'll see how it's done, then you'll get your own shots, one photographer at a time, so everyone will have a chance.  What better way to build your portfolio and remember exactly how the couple was lit and posed!

YES! BRING YOUR CAMERA & NOTE PAD.

We'll also deal with the important issue of workflow, how to do the formals in the least amount of time. Not having a plan is one of the things that can get you a bad rep.

For the more cautious ones, I've provided my web address here so you can decide for yourself if ol' Brucey can deliver:  http://www.obedientcamera.com/wedding.html .           I'd rather not deal with creds here, if you don't mind.

Price for MeetUp Gold members.... $125.

Price for other MeetUp members... $145. (makes sense to join the Gold group)

Price for Obedience Training for Your Camera workshop students and those who took the Wedding Assistant Ground School in 2011 ..............  $75.

REFUNDS.  I will refund your payment if you cancel more than 48 hours in advance of the event, but will hold $5 to cover the PayPal fee I have to pay.

ONE BIG FAT CAVEAT: YOU MUST ATTEND THE FREE GROUND SCHOOL FIRST if you want to receive a Certificate of Completion.  Only Certificate holders will have their names and contact info shared with my wedding professional colleagues, who are looking for competent help.  Only Certificate holders will be considered for paid 2nd shooter spots on my weddings. Any pro worth his or her good name will make sure their 2nd shooters know the basics.  Ground School and In-Flight Training are the basics.

How to pay and RSVP:  Click here... PayPal  ...and ...

use my account name... [masked]      (I hope this method works. First time I've tried this.  If not, I'll have to figure something else out.)

Following this In-Flight Training, there will be another MeetUp to complete this Wedding series.  It's called Getting Paid to Fly.  (Clever, huh?)  Date, time, location and $$ TBD.     We'll cover Pricing, Legal issues, What makes a bride tick (understanding her heart), What ticks her off, Professional associations to help you grow as a pro, and more.  You will receive a CD with PDFs of the docs I use to market, sell and prepare for each wedding: Info Sheet, Contract, Price List (nothing under $1k), Marketing Brochure, a 41 page Wedding Photography Guide.  You will also learn how I sell 9 out of 10 brides I talk to and how I convince ALL of them to do ALL of their posed (WITH HER GROOM) photos BEFORE the ceremony.  No hype.

Afterthought. Since we will be guests in a place that isn't intended for eating and drinking, in the interest of keeping good relations, we should limit ourselves to water only while inside the sanctuary. Breaks will be scheduled hourly.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
