Here is the note I just sent out regarding this photowalk.

Ugh I can't win!
Alum Rock Park wants $100 for a permit, just like Santana Row. They are also on a day-to-day basis as to whether the park will actually be open, due to fire danger and resources.
I don't like paying for permits just to go out and enjoy the day and snap a few pictures. Plus, we really don't know if weather conditions and fire resources will permit us to go, and it's gonna be a last minute decision.
Therefore, I have no choice but to cancel this for now.
Perhaps later, when fire danger is not at its peak, we can revisit this location and pitch in for a permit. Sorry for the cancel - no one is more disappointed than me.

Still scoping out this location, but it's supposed to be gorgeous! One of California's oldest municipal parks, with stone bridges, plenty of walking trails, mineral springs, gazebo and log cabin. Lots of opportunities for great photos!
Learn more about the park here:
I'll choose a nearby location to meet and will provide the scavenger hunt list as well as a map of the area, on the day of the event. Details to come, but put this date on your calendar. It's a scenic location you may not have seen before!
Things to know:
Parking is $6 per car so I suggest we carpool as much as possible.
More info about the terrain, wildlife and birds in the park can be found here:
