Volunteers are needed to host math and science games for the 2014 Pi Day Math, Science, and Pi(e) Festival event at the Coalition for the Homeless hosted by BE. Orlando.
There are currently planned stations in need of folks to host them (listed on the info page), but if you have creative ideas for games, please let me know. Email if you have a specific game you'd like to be in charge of! We need folks for the games listed on the page as well as hosting the welcome table & gift bag give-aways, hosting the Pi(e) Buffet table, floaters to help with cleanups & guiding children, and more.
This event is free to participate and open to the public. We ask volunteers to bring a pie (homemade preferred).
Volunteers receive a Pi Day Adventure Leader certificate and may keep their souvenir volunteer lanyard.
The info page also has a fabulous list of Pi Day Gear shopping links. Enjoy! :)
Help with items: Volunteers are not required to supply the items for the station they choose to host. However, if you would like to help us with items like games, decorations, or other supplies please let us know.

3:00 - 4:30 - Festival!
4:30ish - cleanup (we have the room until 5)
6:30 - there is a Pi Day social dinner (location TBD, downtown) - you are welcome to join us. Anyone wearing something Pi-related will get a geeky gift. Volunteers at the Coalition can just join us, anyone else can RSVP HERE or email [masked].
Want to bring your children to volunteer?
Youth volunteers are welcome at this event, but this is a fast-paced event that requires volunteers to operate independently; you may decide to bring a youngster to serve at your side, but you must supervise them and still be able to manage your station. Please use your discretion and knowledge of your child's capability. You're welcome to contact Tee directly if you have any questions.
Note: it's hard for me to manage multiple group postings for one event. If someone in this group would consider co-hosting just to help cross-posting volunteer assignments and updates, i'd appreciate the hand. Otherwise, if you don't see updates here for a while, please post a comment to flag me and i'll get to it asap.
