What is your stance on religion?

Where to begin...?! I don't like to tell ppl what to do or think, and don't like to have other ppl force their opinions onto me. I do feel that religions have historically hurt more than they may have helped as ironic as that may be. When I read the definition of what a humanist was... I felt like wow, there's finally a fairly good description of what I am. Being an athiest, agnostic, humanist, free-thinker is not a place or conclusion I came to lightly, out of laziness or in defiance of anyone. It reflects a lot on who I am as a person. I appreciate other people who also think outside the box. It takes courage! I once read that its easier to come out as gay than it is to come out as a non-believer. Atheism... the other closet. Funny. In a country that was sought out as a refuge from religious prosecution, we now seek to find freedom from prosecution by the religious.

How did you hear about our group?

Hmmm.... what to say?! I'm a free-thinking, hard-working & fun-loving single mom. Originally from New York and looking forward to meeting other like-minded individuals to socialize with.
