People's religious beliefs baffle and amaze me. Religions make no sense at all to me. I believe we have the life we're living and that is it. We must make the most of it while alive. I have reverence for the natural world and believe in respect for all living things. I believe we should be kind to others, but not to go overboard at our own expense. The idea of self-sacrifice in the hopes of a better life in the "hereafter" seem like such a waste of a good life. Very sad. I think it is hard to make connections with people as so many, at least on the surface, appear to profess belief in religious ideation. It would be nice to meet with like-minded people.

I am a late-fifties Mainah who is now living in Florida full-time. I've not been in any religion since I was a teenager. I enjoy books, music, movies/videos, walking/hiking, biking, nature. I also run an atheist social meetup in Lake County.
The F.A.C.T.S. group is a pretty good bunch of people.
