Tired of getting these emails.  have better things to do with my time then delete dozens of emails a day from you people.  Sending future emails to spam and unsubscribing.  If you don't want to lose all of your following, I seriously suggest you people stop doing stuff like this.

Thank you, Mike. Tell you what -- let's wind up this "discussion" with:

Swami Beyondananda's Ten Guidelines for Enlightenment
1. Be a FUNdamentalist -- ensure that the Fun always comes before the Mental. Realize that life is a situation comedy that will never be canceled. A laugh track has been provided and the reason we are put in the material world is to get more material. Have a good laughsitive twice a day, which will ensure reguhilarity.
2. Remember that each of us has been given a special gift just for entering, so you are already a winner!
3. The most powerful tool on the planet today is Tell-A-Vision. That's where I tell a vision to you and you tell a vision to me. That way, if we don't like the programming we're getting, we can change the channel.
4. Life is like photography -- you use the negative to develop. No matter what adversity you face, be reassured: Of course God loves you...He's just not ready to make a commitment.
5. It is true: As we go through life thinking heavy thoughts, thought particles tend to get caught between the ears and cause a condition called "truth decay". Be sure to use mental floss twice a day, and when you're tempted to practice 'tantrum yoga', remember what we teach in the Swami's Absurdiveness Training Class: DON'T GET EVEN, GET ODD.
6. If we want world peace, we must let go of our attachments and truly live like nomads. That's where I no mad at you and you no mad at me. That way there'll surely be nomadness on the planet. Peace begins with each of us. A little peace here, a little peace there. Pretty soon all the peaces will fit together to make one big peace everywhere.
7. I know great earth changes have been predicted for the future, so if you're looking to avoid earthquakes my advice is simple: When you find a fault don't dwell on it.
8. There's no need to change the world. All we have to do is toilet train the world and we'll never have to change it again.
9. If you're looking for the key to the Universe I've got some good news and some bad news.
  • The bad news: There is no key to the Universe.
  • The good news: It was never locked.
10. Finally, everything I've told you is channeled. That way, if you don't like it it's not my fault. But remember: Enlightenment is not a bureaucracy, so you don't have to go through channels.
'Nuff said...

I think people are getting upset on getting so many emails on this.
We have a Facebook page called Florida Atheists Critical Thinkers and Skeptics that should be used for these longer debates instead of an email thread.
So please avoid replying to this, and if you wish to continue this post it on our facebook page.
Thanks, and sorry to all those not wanting anymore emails on this thread.
Mike.

BTW....
Einstein actually criticized the belief of a personal God.  So he did what you are telling is not to do:
Also I am tolerant of irrational beliefs that don't harm others.  The Abraham religions don't fit into this category though.

Tolerance of intolerance is cowardice.
I disagree with your opinion that we all should not criticize religious dogma.  While I would never tell you that you must never criticize me criticizing religion.  I would also criticize you stating that criticizing is persecuting.  You are not persecuting me if you criticize me.  I would hope you would know the huge difference in those two words.
To me religion does not deserve respect as it actually harms others with much more than just words.  When a doctrine, whether political or religious harms others, then it is our duty as citizens to speak up against it and not remain silent.
You seem to have fallen into the trap of believing that criticizing religion is wrong.  It is not.  There is nothing wrong with questioning and also challenging others beliefs.  If the 'believer' finds this disrespectful, that is a problem that was caused by the actually religious teachings that taught that questioning is wrong, not with the person who dares to question their beliefs.
I will not be silent to immoral acts, to hate towards groups.  Funny how militant atheists are just ones that speak up.  In religion they use force and kill people to get they faith spread.  All it takes is words to destroy religion, and that is why religious organizations make people think that it is disrespectful to criticize them.
I hope this gives you insight to why you are so wrong to tell the rest of us to be silent.  Hope to discuss in person one day.
Mike.

I don't subscribe to the view that all opinions are equally worthy

For example, people who believe that a being, outside of the natural world, who intercedes in our affairs, do indeed deny the basis of science. I don't respect that.

These same people often voice hate towards others, be they homosexuals, or people who practice birth control.

People who base their world view on the writings of Bronx age nomadic sheep herders do not deserve my time or tolerance.

I guess I am a militant atheist - LOL

So rendering the views of billions as useless and intolerable is a wise move and the greatest minds in history from Confucius to Einstein should be ignored?

Your opinion is a teaching moment!

I value all....even yours!
