It's time for another pedestrian safety walk! Our streets still aren't safe for pedestrians to cross, more people are dying or being injured. Let's keep educating drivers about pedestrian rights in the crosswalk, and make it safer for us all out on the street!
This time we'll be meeting in Little Havana, at the corner of SW 8th St and SW 12th Ave to walk in the crosswalk during the time that pedestrians are legally allowed to enter the crosswalk. We will have educational signs and statistics about pedestrians injuries and fatalities for you to carry and walk back and forth with through the crosswalk. We also have educational materials to hand drivers and pedestrians.
Please arrive promptly at 10:30 am, we will go over the rules so everyone is following traffic laws and then we will walk in the crosswalk for about an hour. We will provide signs but feel free to create your own as long as they are educational in nature and don't have inflammatory content. We currently need signs in Spanish so if you are fluent, we'd love to have your bring some signs in Spanish!
