Another great ride. Thank you to the Miami Critical Mass Crew for your dedication to this monthly event. Towards the end of the ride, the crowd started going on one way streets against traffic and over by the FedEx office, there was a FedEx truck heading southbound, while the cyclist were heading northbound. It was a very crazy situation, to the point where a cyclist or two, began hitting on the truck, and the truck completely had the right of way since we were going against traffic - I don't know how we got to that point. Next time, I'm staying towards the front, forget the middle and back.

Really? I didn't realize that many people participated, but now that I think about it, looking at the pictures I captured, that number is fair.

This was my first Critical Mass.

I did not know ANYONE there. I just went because I thought it would be cool.

And HOLY CRAP was it. It was so awesome to be part of such a large collective of cyclists. Everyone was polite and pleasant. So many smiling faces! And I loved seeing the motorists cheering us on. I saw very few people angry at having to wait!

Thank you, collectively, to all. I'm going to keep doing this rides if I can, and maybe even make new friends in the process. I'm a bit shy by nature so tend to be quiet, but I still felt so at home and welcome in your group.

    You're all awesome!

Also, I hope the three people who I saw that had crashed are okay. I was at least glad to see fellow riders helping them.

I am 62 years old and was afraid I couldn't keep up but it was a reasonable pace and I had a lot of fun! I even saw another older lady riding a tricycle. That was very cool! I plan to attend more rides! Thank you corkers and organizers.

Hey, don't forget to stop by the "Muscle Milk" JEEP and get fueled up before or after the ride. Also, if you got a Jeep, then join us for the "outdoors and off-roads" rides right here on Meetup http://www.meetup.com/JeepsOnlyClub

Hello everyone, i noticed that quite a few people are concerned with needing a hearse for the return trip from cauley square, so i hope this idea helps.
Metro Bus #38 departs from 224th st every 15 minutes. so lets say we arrive at 12 noon, and you want to head back on the bus, the first one is at 1235pm, the next at 1250pm, and so on. and it will take you all the way to dadeland south station. ;-)

    March 28, 2013

Is it going to be a "Ride to Robert's" Testosterone ride? I can keep up but there are a lot here that had trouble keeping up last time. Need to remember the reason.

    March 24, 2013

    • Collin

I think your mixing two rides up Carlos. Friday night critical mass is meant to be slow. This Saturday there is a ride to Robert is Here that is also a slower community ride.

      1 · March 25, 2013

    • Carlos F.

No it's not that I'm confusing it. It's just that the last time I participated it was out of control and the group splintered quickly. Newcomers were quickly dropped. I want to invite new people but I fear that their experience might match some of the other commenters. You should never hear someone say they did not complete a Critical Mass ride because they could not keep up.

Wonderful! Broke a spoke on my nightly ride. Since my bike is under warranty and I'm going to insist on a new wheel, which will probably have to be ordered... I'm likely going to miss the ride.

Ahh well, ya'll have fun for me. :)

    March 27, 2013

Remember this ride has pace setters and is not intended to be a fast ride.
Be respectful to pedestrians and don't ride on the sidewalk.
This is not an is vs them, most of you are them every other day of the month.
Before and after the ride clear the streets, and explore downtown.

I notice a lot of riders which I'm assuming are fairly new to cycling struggle trying to keep up, more than likely this is due to not knowing how to properly change gears on their bicycles. Check out this video which shows you the basics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R2aQpKBz48
