Biking and Pedestrian Funding To Be Cut...

In the next few days Senator Coburn of Oklahoma will ask Congress to eliminate the primary funding source of sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, and trails for the last 20 years.

He claims it’s all part of an effort to reduce the deficit, but this program represents less than two percent of all federal transportation spending. Cutting bike and pedestrian funding won’t balance our budget – but it will make our country a more dangerous place to walk or bike. And it will reduce transportation options for Americans at a time when we badly need more.

I just emailed my Senators to ask that they defend bike and pedestrian funding against this misguided attack. Will you do the same?

Thanks so much for your help!
