Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by the walk/run, and then more festivities! Enjoy food, prizes, raffles, and more!
If you want to make this more on topic, please feel free to bring a chair and a crochet project. You can walk, meet some amazing folks, and then sit down to crochet for a bit during the festivities that follow. (For those of you new to the group, I promise that I only post these off topic events once per year.)
As most of you know, Huntington's Disease has affected my husband's family. His grandmother, aunt, and mother died from it. His mother was placed in a nursing home at the age of 39 and passed away at 47. His brother was diagnosed in his early 30s and other family members are living at-risk. It frequently inflicts its debilitating damage as early as one's 20s and 30s. There is no cure or treatment at this time. If you want to know more about Huntington's Disease, please feel free to ask me or check out the HDSA website at http://www.hdsa.org/.
My husband and I hope that you will walk with us to raise awareness and money for this very special cause that is near and dear to our hearts and family. If you cannot walk with us, but would still like to support the efforts to find a cure from a monetary perspective, we will match your donations. If you cannot walk or donate, then please help us spread the word about this little-known disease by sharing this information with others.
