I started crocheting seriously in the Summer 2005 to make my best friends a baby blanket for their little boy.
I typically only work one project at a time.
My left handed niece wanted to learn to crochet, but my right handed wife had difficulty teaching her. I'm ambidextrous, so I learned how to crochet right handed, flipped it and taught my niece how to crochet left handed.
My favorite yarn was (I believe) a Lion Brand Babysoft yarn called 'confetti' that is no longer available. My second favorite yarn for quick, soft blankets is Lion Brand Homespun.
I'm John, a father of two boys, who can crochet just about anything rectangular. I happened across a NoVA crocheters event at Grounded. If I can scare up the time, I hope to be social and learn to crochet other basic shapes. :)
Erika is a wonderful Meetup coordinator and NoVA Crocheters are a great bunch. I always have a great time and never fail to learn something new.
