Quite a bit going on in October before the weather turns cold.
First off as Festival Season ends our "Going Out to Eat Season" begins. Unless anyone has another idea we'll probably kick it off with the traditional Ethiopian Meal at http://empresstayturestaurantcleveland.com/

3)Celebration of Leif Ericson Day

The Ohio Norsemen are hosting the Leif Ericson ay celebration this year at Shooter's. Everyone is welcome to toast Leif at the bust outside and then gather inside for lunch together afterwards. (Cost of meals is on your own.)

Leif Ericson (c. 970 - c. 1020) was an explorer regarded as the first European to land in North America nearly 500 years before Columbus. He established a settlement at Vinland at the northern tip of what is now Newfoundland. Leif's father, Eric the Red, was the explorer who sailed west from Iceland c. 982 to discover the land he named Greenland where he established the first colony.
